a little late consider he is a few days away from 10 months, but i wanted to record this month.

he has found the bathroom and now we must shut the doors has discovered my parents doggie door!

loves to look out the front windows!

he makes us laugh so much!

he has started to take 3-4 steps by himself. all he wants to do is run and play

still sleeps from 8 am-8 pm and takes two couple hour naps every day

loves food, such a great eater

plays really well by himself and with others

He has such a personality and he makes us laugh all the time or he is moody and drives me crazy!

got his first split lip/ fat lip, fell walking at grandma's house and knocks his mouth on the edge of the entertainment center.

New years

we had a geat new years! we went to our annual friends bowling party.

2011 was such a great year with the birth of our son and all the many new and amazing experience he has brought into our life! we have incredible friends and wonderful families. I have and amazing husband who works so hard and his the best father to Owen. I loved 2011, but i am so excited for 2012, i feel like this is going to be a great great year!

Merry Christmas We woke up and went to church in our sunday best
Christmas Morning!

After church we changed back into our jammies and went downstairs to see what santa brought. Owen got a new activity table. he loves it!

Josh and his new skis that santa brought him. now if only it would snow! he was so surprised and excited for them.

He also got a big boy car seat! i'm still a little uneasy about it, but he is definitely big enough to be in one. and he loves facing forward!

after we had our christmas we went to my parents house to open some gifts. they spoiled us rotten again this year. owen's favorite toy they got him is his walk behind car!

We had a great christmas and got spoiled so much, but we feel so blessed to have the families we do and the love that comes from them. It was also great to go to church that morning a remember the real reason for the season, our lord and savior and all that he has done for us.

Christmas eve 2011

We had everyone together this year for our big christmas eve dinner. he was so great spending that night with family and catching up and laughing! owen got his first present from his cousin Boe. he LOVES his new bath toys. he also opened his new christmas jammies!

he had a cute outfit on, but he was still having some major blow outs! he hung out in his onsie and sweats.

Tytan Christmas

tytan was in town the celebrate Christmas with his mom. We had a little christmas at the Willdens for him. he was so fun to watch open gifts and be so excited for everything he got.

Birthday

i had another birthday! i have reached the young age of 25! the day before my birthday my parents offered to watch Owen all day so Josh and I could do whatever! it was fabulous. it was my first time leaving him for that long so it was a little hard, but Josh and i got a lot of christmas shopping done, dinner and a movie! i hadn't been to the movies since Owen was 3 weeks old! that morning Owen had thrown up and i didn't really think anything of it. he acted just fine most of the day. after we had got out of the movie that night i had a missed call from my mom. i called her and she had told me the horrible day Owen has had. He just kept on throwing up and not eating. he was one sicky boy! i felt horrible for leaving him and not being there when he was sick, but i knew he was in good hands with my mom. Well Owen ended up vomiting for another few days and had diarrhea for almost a week. he never had a fever though. Happy birthday to me!

My little family went out and looked at the famous christmas light houses in Boise this year.

this one house is all lit up and plays to christmas music. it's fabulous! Owen actually sat and watched the whole show.

we went to a beautiful tree lot just around the corner from us and all trees there were one low price! that made me very happy! we got a big, full beautiful tree. Owen was a lot of help. i was so worried that he would pull the tree over or break an orniment, but he did so good with it. he would just sit/stand and look at it.

Hair cut

Owen has actually had his hair cut/trim a few times already, but this was his first real big boy haircut. i enlisted the help of my mother. Owen hated it and he needed the extra hands from my dad as well to hold him still. Oh he hated it! But as soon as the clippers turned off he was fine and happy.handsome boy

This little boy LOVES his bath time! he can play and laugh forever if he let him. this big boy put up our christmas lights! yay for not being the dark house on the street anymore.

Thanksgiving 2011

it was just the Jakobson family this year for Thanksgiving. with my Aunt and
Uncle who usually host Thanksgiving and them being gone on their mission, we did our own dinner. Mom did a great job with all the food and crafts.

usually we make gingerbread houses, but this year we made candy trains. so much fun and a little easier to make. Josh helped Grant make his huge train.

Each child made either a Pilgrim, Indian or a turkey hat. Owen got to be the Turkey. it was so dang cute!

Grant and Mads were the indians and Boe and Mark were the Pilgrims. how can you not giggle and smile at this picture!

earlier in the night owen had a blow out and mads spilt on her shirt, so her and owen spend the rest of the night with little to no clothes on.

yup...i got called to the laurel Advisory. i'm excited but nervous. it's been awhile since I've been in young womens.

our ginormous ward got split a couple of weeks ago so they are trying to get all the callings filled as quickly as they can.

Josh and I only have ever been called to the primary, so this is a little bit of a big step for me.

a couple of years ago i had posted about our good friends Tyler and Melissa. they were expecting their first baby together and had found out that baby Cooper had many birth defects and wouldn't make it past birth. They both were such troopers and grateful for that baby even with all the trials and hard pregnancy. she went into labor at 27 wks and Cooper didn't live much after birth.Well today they now have their second baby. Melissa had a healthy pregnancy with a big healthy baby girl. they are amazing people who make me so grateful for my healthy pregnancy and baby that i have.

Josh's birthday was on the 7th of November. it was a monday, so we didn't plan anything big. My mom came to babysit Owen while just the two of us went out to our favorite sushi restaurant and then to cheesecake factory for a delicious desert. it was really nice to spend time with just the two of us and no worries for 2 hours.

Roof project

totally out of order, but this is Kole riding on the back of Owen's walker. it was hilarious to watch. while Tyson and his family were in town we all pitched in a took off my parent's roof! it took some of friday and all day Saturday. it was a lot of work and very exhausting, but we did it and now their new roof is being put on.

Linder Farms 2011

Tyson and his family came into town and so we really wanted to go to a pumpkin patch, but they can be really expensive. so i did some digging and found Linder farms. on Thursday night it was half off which made it $1.50 per adult! most of the fun easy things for the kids to play with were free. we will be going back next year. i asked the boys to say cheese for the camera! they were really excited about the ride.

Grant played soccer for the first time this fall. we went to most games because they were so close to our house and plus i enjoy watching my little guy play sports. Owen has gotten so big! he now climbs onto the dishwasher, to help of course, and he has discovered the stairs.

He loves to look out the front door or window. he can sit there for a long time and not make a peep.

Josh was playing around with Owen and he spit up big time all over his daddy! he just got a little on his chin.

this crazy happy boy turned 7 months old this month. he loves to be active and to play!

LOVES loves loves bath time. he splashes so much!

besides crawling pretty well now he also likes to pull himself up and stand! which has led to a lot of falling and knocking of his head. which leads to lots of tears!

he still takes 2 good naps a day

Half of October

Celebrated my mom's birthday. we went on a family bike ride. all her babies minues Kole, Luke and baby Will.

josh went out of town for a week for work so Owen and I went to visit Tyson and Amanda. Had a lot of fun just hanging out, visiting and playing with my boys! Owen learned to be tough with Lukey beating up on him!

Remeber when i posted about how Owen was all about his Jumperoo? well Elena let us borrow their walker and it's now Owen's new and favorite thing! it didn't take him long to figure it out andd he has been zooming around our house all day.
he loves to go and look out the windows and to go into the kitchen and and pull open the drawers and stare at himself in the oven.

Tytan Connor

Tyson Willden and his new family moved to the Portland, OR area last week. He was nice and let Janie and Lance have him for the day/night right before they moved. So Josh and I went over and spent some much needed time with him. we haven't been able to spend timewith due to some family issues , so it was great to play and watch him be his silly self. he loves Owen and was all about what is Owen doing, Owen this and Owen that. So cute! he kept giving him kisses and hugs. it was just making me so happy that they have a close bond and hopefully even though tytan will be far away they can still grow up together and be best buds.

We will miss our tytan connor so much and hope that this move works out for tyson and his new family.

Owen has had a rough week so far. He got his first bruise on his cheek from trying to stand up in his crib he fell and knocked his cheek on the rail. because of that i kept saying that we need to lower his crib down and kept repeating it. Well today i put him down for his morning nap and i started mopping when i heard a thump! i ran like a crazy women upstairs and saw my sad baby screaming on the floor. He fell out of his crib! i called Josh he came home and we lowered the crib. i know it's not going to be the last of bruises and scrapes, but it makes me sad to see my baby get hurt.

I have been such a slacker on my blog and not because we have an exciting life. It's because i'm a mom now and too busy with my active baby.

josh- he got a new position in Gensco that he now is the territory manager sells Rep for the brand Rheem and American Stantard. He loves it and loves his new boss. he stilll is traveling quite a bit, but that's the job. and he drives a sweet new chevy pickup. besides work, me and owen that's all he has time for. Hunting season is coming upon us and he always makes time for that.

hilary- I spend my longs days with my sweet, crazy, busy baby. I haven't gone back to work. I am the maid/nanny/wife/teacher/nurse/mom and I love being all those things for my family. that's really all i have been doing! oh and trying really hard to lose my baby weight. i joined a great little workout class and really feel like that is doing the trick for me. slowly but surely it will happen.

He turned 6 months on sept 9th and is such a fun easier baby now. His stats at his check up were
19.1 lbs(75%)

So we have a big healthy boy with a head full of brains

he does this thing now where he will put a toy, bib or anything in his mouth and hold it there while he plays with something else with his hands.

he crawls. he started testing it out a couplf of weeks ago and each day then he gets better and better. the Dr. said that was advanced. that's our boy. haha

LOVES to read. this is the only time he will quite down and snuggle with me. He really does like when I read him books. so we read a lot! favorties right now are Brown Bear, moo baa lalala, pajama time. I have them memorized

another new thing his the sticking out of his tongue. so cute and funny.

he now likes to go to the store with me and rides pretty happily in the shopping carts and even his stroller! big improvement from when he couldn't even leave the house without his crying the whole time.

He now laughs at anything, loves to play, loves to take his surroundings in and can be entertained with a toy or us playing with him.

My best girlfriends and I got together for our annual Girls Night Out! this is now the third year I believe that we have done this and it's great to get with my girls and talk about anything! I usually don't see Sierra, she was living in Utah and just moved to Boise, Tricia works all the time and not is a full time nursing student, I keep in contact with Jilly and see her here and there, but our lives are all so different and busy now. last minute on Friday we decided to go and watch the hotair balloons light up in the park. it was fun, but not as cool as i would have wanted it to be. it was nice to get out and do something different. us, my parents and elena with Boe came to enjoy the lights

Dirty Dash

I ran my first 10k run! wahoo! it was 6 miles of obstacles, lots of mud and mostly straight up hill! brutal! it was a lot of fun and i am so glad that Josh and Elena did it with me. I was exhausted and didn't do as good as i would have liked, but at least i finished with a smile on my face. next year will be even better.

for the 3,500 people that ran it(not all at the same time) there was only a few freezing cold showers. It was suppose to be hot and sunny that day, but it was cold and over cast.

after the first real big mud pit it felt like you were running with ten pound weights in your shoes.

back in the day my mom would get together with her friend and they were make freezer corn. fast forwar several years and it's my turn to learn to make it. we had three LARGE bags of corn to peel, boil, cut of the cob, bag and freeze. Elena came over to get in on the corn party too. it was fun and easy. now Josh and i will have yummy corn anytime we want it.

We had bought a Kelty back pack last year for a great price and was excited to use it this summer with Owen. It is the best purchase ever. so comfy and Owen loves being in it. Good thing cause at the coast he spent A LOT of time in the back pack.

Cory did another triathlon the other weekend in Emmett. We all went out to support him.

Fair 2011

We went to the fair with my parents and brother's family. it's always fun to go to the fair even if we didn't ride any rides. we enjoyed people watching, the petting zoo and fair food!

the worlds largest or should i say fattest pic. he weighed like 1,200 lbs. kinda gross.

these baby goats were so funny and entertaining to watch that we didn't notice one eating owen's shorts and stroller. Funny goats.

Crabbing at the coast

We decided to go Crabbing one day and showed up feeling very uneasy about the situation. first we did it ALL by ourselves, no guide and in the bay. Second there were super small motor boats. it was funny when we were driving out little boat in the bay with big crabbing boast besides us. Anyways.... it ending up being a fun experience!

Since we were camping so close to the beach we were able to go and watch two gorgeous sunsets. breathe taking!

Oregon Coast

for the past few years my family goes on a trip all together, sometimes not all can come. since we do it over Cory's birthday he picks where we will camp. this year he picked the Oregon Coast! it was so much fun and most of us haven't been there, so it was a fun experience.

i made Mads into a pretty sand mermaid. She sat there for a long time and said that she was never leaving.

we flew kites on the beach. Mads was flying her own Kite and kept getting distracted by the sand and lost hold of the kite! Cory took off chasing it across the beach and luckily it got stopped a long ways down on some cliffs.

There were gorgeous and HUGE hanging flower pots every where in Oregon.

Tide pools were pretty cool. Saw a ton of star fish and maybe went beyond some of the marked points. Oops

We explored a hidden a beautiful beach all by ourselves.

our camp ground was so pretty and just a short walk or bike ride to the beach. But there were a ton of "octopus" trees. so neat!

Just a few of the highlights of our trip. I was so much fun and so happy that me family still does cool trips like this one together.

Amanda and the boys flew into town last weekend and we spent the whole time doing things together. one thing is getting all the kids together and swimming! we love that I have a pool and just up the street a bit my brother and his family have a pool. The kids LOVE to play with josh in the water. Kole and Mads have to wear cute little arm floaties and it's so cute to watch their little bodies swim in such a big pool.my little or I mean big fish

g-ma always needs a group pic of all her babies when they are all together. kinda hard to get 7 kids to look at the camera and be happy, but happy to make the memory.

it amazing how he changes week by week. Owen is 5 months old and better then ever. He now is getting less fussy and much more happier. He loves to hear himself scream, he loves to laugh and blow bubbles, and he loves to play and talk. He is getting so fun! him blowing bubbles

he is getting really good at sitting up by himself. He also reaches for everything and then everything must go in his mouth. Silly boy

my sister n law Elena did her first triathlon!! it was called Why not try and it was a mini mini triathlon, but still more then i could do.

First she swam(sorry but people kept getting in front of me so this was the best picture)

it only happens once a year that ALL the Willdens get together. I love going to the reunion and spending time with my other family. it's always a ton of fun!

Tytan was singing the Green Tractor song to Owen. He loves his baby cousin and it's so sweet to watch these two boys together.

We did the usual shooting of the guns. I actually shot a clay pigeon! There was also a big game of horse shoes and kick ball!

Owen very badly needed a bath, but all there was were showers. it was definitely a two person job getting him clean.

Owen did pretty good. the first night was SO cold and he didn't sleep very good at all, but each night got better. and he was good at letting certain people hold him.

We had so much fun and it's always sad to leave knowing that it will be another year until we see each other again. i'm so grateful for a great family.

carrying on my mom's tradition of making your family stockings, i have completed Josh's a few years ago and now Owen's is done! phew....i probably picked the hardest pattern, but with a lot of help from my talented mom we finished it. Good thing cause my mom still has two more baby stockings to complete, hopefully by december.

next stocking i cross stitch with be a lot easier.

Friday night

every time we've gone to Henderson, we go to movie in the park with tyson and amanda. So when i discovered that there was a movie in the park like 2 minutes from our house you better bet we went. It was so so crowded, and walking in i had no idea if we were going to get a good seat, but he got great seats on top of a little hill and no one else behind us. they didn't start the movie until 10:00, which is past Owen's bed time and he did sleep most of the time. He loved being outside and people watching.

Boys Trip

every year for the past 10 YEARS josh and his best friends have gone to Seattle for their "boys trip". His friend Steve has a cousin that they stay with and he works high up with the mariners and so the boys get the greatest seats in the stadium all weekend long. Lucky boys!

this years view from game # 2. they have fun relaxing and being boys with no wife around to nag them. they do drive every year and it's and 8 hour drive with all 7-8 boys in a mini van.

josh bought Owen his first mariners t-shirt. it's pretty darn cute on him.

i stayed with my mom for the 4 days he was gone because with a high maintenance baby like owen i need all the help i can get. We missed Josh and was extremely happy when he got home!

Owen turned 4 months old on July 9th! holy cow....i can't believe how fast he is growing. i've already blogged that he is a rolling machine now, he sleeps great and loves to eat. i'm weaning him and he really doesn't care as long as he gets his food!

my brother Tyson was lighting the sparklers with a blow torch! crazy guy cutest girl ever!

i love the 4th of july celebrations. every year my family gets together and goes boating. I made these delicious red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting from scratch!

this was my life jacket when i was a baby and every baby that has been born in our family has worn it. we make fun because all the baby boys have worn the pink life jacket. it's kind of a tradition to wear it.

the bigger kids on the boat. They love love love being on the boat.

this year was Kole's turn to ride the wake board with his Dad Tyson. last year grant did it with cory. Also grant got up and rode the wake board all by himself. it was pretty awesome to watch both Kole and Grant.

Mark and Owen had matching 4th of July shorts. not planned. they looked so cute together.

my mom had the whole day planned when we got home from the lake. one of the games we played was water balloon toss. everyone got pretty wet.

He rolls

My little man has learned how to roll over! for a few weeks now he has been getting closer and closer to it. then on the 4th of july he and Mark were laying on the floor and owen pretty much rolled right ontop of Marky! today, july 5th, he was playing on his floor mat and just rolled over with complete ease. from then on he rolls from back to belly then back over to his back. He's pretty proud and not to mention that i am extremely excited for him. My baby is growing up way to fast!

I couldn't get my camera ready fast enough so i could only catch him from mid roll, but you get the idea.

busy busy week

my brother Tyson and his great little family came to town for a week to visit. it was fabulous to spend time with them and have my whole family together again for some much needed fun time. we started the week off by going swimming at my place. luckily it was really really hot but the pool was really really busy. lots of fun. Afterwards the fam stayed and had a BBQ and enjoyed the chaos of all of us being together.

the next day we hit up the zoo. we some how always go to the zoo on the hottest day! great day and finished with a picnic in the park.

on Friday we packed up a lunch and went to a park for some play time and the kids could play in the splash park.

it was the perfect day to fly our kites. Grant really gets into the running to get his kite up.

Saturday everyone but us went to see Cars and that night we joined them for and adult only with the exception of two cute babies dinner. we tried a new steak house in Eagle and it was to die for! it was fun just having us adults and no kids to worry about

Sunday was my cousin Matthews mission farewell and lunch. Then we went over to my parents for a big sunday dinner and some more play time before tyson and amanda left.

Owen was so worn out by the end of the day. he had one busy weekend and totally was off schedule, but it was SO much fun being all together again.

I love my dad! he's is the best! he has taught me and my brothers so many lessons and how to have a good time. He's such a hard worker probably more then i'll ever know and he LOVES his family and grandbabies more then this world.

then there is my baby daddy Josh. He is beyond the best dad to Owen! it's the sweetest thing to watch him play with him and form that strong bond with his son.

Fathers day sunday wear.

he have early church, so no breakfast in bed. But i did make his favorite after church snack and then went to my parents and had our annual fathers day dinner with delicious cookie dough brownies made with love by me. it was a great day celebrating all the dads in our family. Unfortunately my dad at the last minute wasn't able to make it home, but we were sure thinking about him.

on Saturday one of Josh's good friends Austin Zander got married to the beautiful Amanda. we debated and debated whether to take Owen or not and i convinced Josh not to because what if he cried through the whole ceremony!? So we dropped off this cute baby with my mom and got all dressed up and headed out to the wedding in the rain. yes it rained to whole time and the wedding was all outside.

on Saturday was our niece Madelyn's first ballet recital. it was the cutest most entertaining thing ever! she was so excited to dance and be on stage. and when she spotted all of us in the front row she got exciting and had to say hi to all of us! She is the family princess and we love our Mads This is her little brother my nephew Mark. he was born exactly two weeks after Owen and he is the chunkiest little guy ever! He is so chill, mellow and happy all the time...pretty much the opposite of Owen! usually i'm all over my new little baby nephews but with me having my own kid i rarely get to spend time with Mark e mark. but i love him so much and excited for him and Owen and soon another Jakobson baby boy to be best buds.

sunday was a gorgeous day so we packed a lunch and headed to a near by park to have a family picnic. it was so nice spending the day outside with Josh and Owen. not to mention the people watching was great.

(it might seem like he gets a bottle all the time, but really he's just being topped off)

he was just chillen. Owen loves being outside.

the funny thing was that the back of my legs got really sunburned in the shape of an upside down triangle! weird.

Owen is always hungry! i was feeding him every 2 hours and it was very restricting. I felt like i was constantly feeding him so i made the choice to push his feedings out longer and give him rice cereal one to two times a day! it's been a few days now and things are going pretty well. i would say it has been a success. i feel like i can actually leave the house now!He LOVES the cereal! i can't feed him fast enough.

today marks Owen's 3 month birthday! he has changed so much, from becoming now a chunk to constantly talking and blowing bubbles. he was getting distracted during pictures

i think i made him blind with the flash but i wanted to show that his eyes are for sure going blue, just like his daddy's

he's really good at tummy time

sometimes takes baths now in the big bath tub because his newborn tub is getting too small

we've kinda got him liking his bouncy chair, which is a huge milestone for him. he hates anything he has to sit in. he would rather just lay on the floor

he was blessed with the longest darkest eye lashes and i love them so much.

New yard

after a year of talking about how much we hated our landscaping in the front yard we finally went did something about it. there was three rose bushes, two extremely pokey bushes and one ugle fur tree ground cover thing. we dug them all up and planted beautiful bushes, three purple flowery bushes and one burning bush. it look ten times better then before and now it feels more like our place.

Memorial Day

the whole Jakobson clan loaded up and headed down to the Shoshone Falls for the day. yes it does take 2 hours to get there an owen isn't the best passenger, but i think it all went ok. We had a picnic in the park and then walked around and saw all the different views of the huge Falls!

when we were this close to the Falls it was so cold and windy! the mist from the falls was like it was rainy on us!

we were on the hike up the trail and it was time for him to eat and i couldn't stop to fee him. He got a bottle and ate it like a lazy boy!

it's always a fun day hanging out with my family! i love them. we were just missing tyson and Amanda! But they are coming to visit for awhile at the end of june! Hooray!

after 14 months i got my braces off!! hooray! i feel so great and now i look my age with a baby. So to celebrate we went out on a date...plus one cute little baby. surprisingly owen and josh have a lot of the same color shirts and that night owen and Josh were both wearing stripes. My boys are so handsome! my new pearly whites!

Josh's g-pa Willden was in town so after dinner we went out to his parents to visit with him. He was in love with little Owen and it made my heart melt! I really wanted to get a generation picture and i wasn't taking the chance that i might get one at the reunion so i got all the men together and made them pose for a picture for me. it took a few tries but this one is the best one.

2 months

Little Owen turned 2 months on the 9th but his check up was 10 days later so here are his stats, 13lbs

23.3 inchs

and his head is in the 76 percentile (it's full of brains)

He is a little bigger then i was at this stage and i looked way chunkier!

he did as expected with the shots....he cried hard. When we got home i fed him, gave him some Tylenol and he slept hard for the next 2.5 hours! Poor baby woke up with a pretty bad fever and later in the day he fell off the coach! safe to say it wasn't his favorite day! :(

-He smiles all the time and it melts our hearts
-Coos and blabs when we talk to him
-still sleeping from 10:30pm to about 6:00 am! we are blessed with a baby that likes to sleep!
-out grown most of his 0-3 month clothes
-LOVES his baths! he cries as soon as i pull the plug
-still very much HATES his car seat. if we go any where i usually carry him because i don't want to deal with his screaming.
-people still say sometimes he looks just like Josh and other days more of me! i think he's 50/50 which is perfect.
-he went on his first big trip to Vegas this month and did really well.
-his hair is still dark and most of the new hair is too. we are hoping it stays dark and his eyes get even bluer then they already are.

We love our sweet little man and so happy he is with us. I know i always say he is a hard baby, but he kinda was and i wouldn't change it for anything!

I was needing a new phone because mine was slowly not working correctly and so I chose to just get an older iphone. then my brother tyson and my own husband talked me into getting an iphone 4! i said fine and bought it. it came in the mail and i was so excited to get it and play with all the cool things the phone has to offer. including a great camera. usually i always have my camera with me, but when i don't my cool new phone will take just as good pictures for me. here are some random pictures that i took off my phone.

we celebrated out 3rd anniversary together on Tuesday. since we had just gotten back from Vegas we decided to stay in and have a low key day! Josh made me a fabulous dinner and cleaned to kitchen afterwards!

We then went to our favorite yogurt place, U Swirl! ummmmm!

it was really nice to celebrate our anniversary as a family and be able to reflect back on our wedding day and how much things have changed. everything but our love for each other. I love his more today then i did 3 years ago! Josh is the best husband, best friend and dad!

Vegas part 2

Owen is 2 months old and I thought it was time that his Uncle Tyson and Aunt Amanda finally meet him. josh and I made the long drive down to Vegas to visit my brother and his family. normally it takes about 10 hours to get there, but it took us a good 14 hours. We did stop at temple square to get out of the car and to get Owen some fresh air. I was a bad mom and got owen out of his car seat to eat and to stretch a lot!

Temple Square was gorgeous with all the tulips and other flowers in full bloom. We hadn't been there since Josh proposed in Oct of 07!

Owen did so well considering he screams for ever when ever he is in his car seat. He travels like his mom...sleeps most of the way!

May 10th marks our 3 year anniversary! wow... i can't believe it's already been 3 years and so much has happened in that time! most importantly the arrival of our sweet baby boy! I love Josh more today then i did when we met over 4 years ago! i'm lucky i get to spend all eternity with this man. i can't wait to see what this year brings us.

When Owen was 2.5 weeks we had his newborn pictures taken. he was a little pill and refused to sleep during the session and was WIDE awake and fussy. So out of a ton of pictures she snapped only like 18 turned out. The photographer did a great job and i was grateful for her patience with my baby. I think the pictures turned out beautiful and i'm happy to have the fresh baby Owen captured in pictures for ever.

May Day what a day

beside the beautiful flowers i got for May Day my beautiful son was given a blessing by his wonderful dad and all the men that mean the world to us(Josh, Lance, my dad, cory, brent and my uncle Clyde). we did miss my brother Tyson not being there, but i know he was thinking of little Owen. I'm so grateful for the priesthood and the blessing that come from it. I love my wonderful husband and the great blessing he gave our son. Owen did so good, didn't make a peep. Me on the other side was over come by the spirit and cried like a baby.

Jill and her family made the 45 min drive to be here for owen.

I loved his sweet white outfit and the handmade shoes by his great grandma Willden.

I'm so grateful for my big family and that they were all here to help us celebrate owen being in our lives. at times he is such a struggle but i wouldn't change it. i love my sweet baby boy and the blessings he brings to all of us.

Easter Sunday

I had planned a great Easter for my little family and all my ideas went down the drain! i was bummed that owen didn't have his easter basket, but then i remembered that he probably won't ever remember that the Easter Bunny didn't come to his house this year!

Softball Season

it's that time of the year again when Josh is consumed by Softball! it actually is a real fun time for us. My brother wasn't able to get a team together this season, but luckily he has friends that ask him every year to play on their team and he turns them down because he plays with my brothers, and this year he can play with his buddies! He has a game in a couple of days and he needs some batting practice. so we went to the great Wahooz and hit some softballs. it was a beautiful day on saturday and Owen loves to be outside. It was a nice family activity. I can still hit the ball like a pro!

Easter with g-ma

My mom and dad were going to have easter with my brother and his family in Vegas this year so we had Easter with g-ma and g-pa the weekend before. we did the traditional easter dinner feast, egg coloring, the egg hunt and the opening of the easter baskets the Easter bunny had left for the babies.

my mom had spotted a cool way of coloring eggs with crayon shreds! after we colored the eggs the traditional way we made crayon shavings and put them on a hot hot egg and watch the wax melt down the egg! they ended up looking so COOL!

Grant would've colored ALL the eggs if you didn't get some fast enough for yourself!

Auction Fun

Josh and I both spotted a really nice nursery was having a huge tree auction last weekend. We thought hey we might as well go down and see what it was all about. We got there with a ton of other people, watched a few trees being auctioned off and saw one guy buying a really nice tree for $35!! Josh immediately went and got an auction card, we picked the tree we wanted and waited and waited till they reached our tree. The auctioneer started and Josh was right there trying to get us first pick on the tree. We won! and got a really really nice tree for WAY cheap!

It then sat in our driveway for a week until we got a time and muscles to get that tree in our back yard! Luckily my mom came over to help and we were able to get that heavy tree in the back.

Tah-Dah!! we love and so excited to finally have a tree in our yard. it's really nice to look out the window and see a pretty tree and not just our neighbors.

one month

our sweet son turned one month last weekend! where did that month go? it went way too fast! we are loving having him with us and slowing adjusting to how he works. he is still sleeping 5-6 hours straight at night-eat and then go back down for at least 2 more hours, which has been so so wonderful! he was a super fussy baby, but we've discovered that he just was so hungry all the time. I've started to feed him more and he is a completely different baby! we have caught a few smiles from him, which have just melted my heart. He loves his baths and being swaddled and he loves being in the front pack, especially if we go for a walk!

he gets real mad in his car seat and scratches him face, so then mom puts socks on his hands and he never knows what to do with them after that!

tummy time on the boppy! he has always had real good control of his head. he's pretty strong!

my mom came over and watched him so josh and i could get out on our own for a bit. it was so nice!

i went to work and had molds made of his hand and foot. so dang precious, but he sure did hate the process!

Most know that my sis n law was due one month after i was. Well she ended up having her sweet boy two weeks early! Owen and his new cousin Mark are exactly two weeks apart. He's so tiny and hairy just like Owen. and just because i think my son is pretty darn cute....here's some new pictures of him.

gotta love the dream smile! things are going ok with little Owen. he eats a ton, sleeps through the night( see how long that last) and he's a little colic. But we love him and so happy to have him in our lives. not a whole lot has been happening in our lives besides taking care of our baby. josh will be starting softball soone and coaching a AAU basketball team for a few weeks. it's starting to warm up so hopefully owen and i will be getting our of the house more often. i'm exciting for summer time at the pool this year.

my wonderful mom stayed with us for owen's first week home. it was tremendous help to have her around. We were able to split the night routines, she was always cooking us food to eat, cleaning and keeping us company and from going crazy from lack of sleep.
we love her and was really sad to have her leave us.
i know she'll be back though!
